Help with monk name o.O
Hey, im picky with names and im having some trouble with finishing my monks name. If you could help me, if be very grateful.
Few things you may want to know
Male, Tyrian-born, name must be serious (as in, not funny name like Red Bar Go Uppp)
I have the first half of the name down.
Astinos Of ______
i was thinking of something related to monks (healing, purity, judgement) in latin. checked a few translators, but nothing really pops.
BTW, if some1 actually finds the magic name that i love, free ecto (if mad love, 2 >.<)
Thanks
P.S., idk if this it the right forum area to post it... i couldnt figure out where else it would go.

Yeah I know the feeling of how hard it is to name a new char. Here are some suggestions in latin:
Astinos of...
If you want something with HEALING:
medicus, medica, medicum ADJ [XBXBO]
healing, curative, medical; [digitus ~ => fourth finger of the hand];
curatio, curationis N (3rd) F 3 1 F [XXXBO]
treatment, surgical operation, medical care; healing/curing; object of care;
medella, medellae N (1st) F 1 1 F [XBXCO]
cure, remedial treatment; healing, healing power (Sax); health;
medela, medelae N (1st) F 1 1 F [XBXCO]
cure, remedial treatment; healing, healing power (Sax); health;
paeonius, paeonia, paeonium ADJ [XPXDS]
healing; of the god of medicine;
salutifer, salutifera, salutiferum ADJ [XXXDX]
healing, salubrious; saving; salutary;
If you want something with ENCHANTMENT:
incantatio, incantationis N (3rd) F 3 1 F [DEXCS]
enchantment; spell; incantation (Def); (false) statement (Souter);
If you want something with HOLY:
sacer, sacra, sacrum ADJ [XEXAX]
sacred, holy, consecrated; accursed, horrible, detestable;
sanctus, sancta -um, sanctior -or -us, sanctissimus -a -um ADJ [XXXAX]
consecrated, sacred, inviolable; venerable, august, divine, holy, pious, just;
pius, pia -um, -, piissimus -a -um ADJ [XXXAO]
|affectionate, tender, devoted, loyal (to family); pious, devout; holy, godly;
templum, templi N (2nd) N 2 2 N [XXXAX]
temple, church; shrine; holy place;
feria, feriae N (1st) F 1 1 F [XXXBO]
festival/holy day; day of rest/holiday/leisure; holidays (pl.); fair;
sacratus, sacrata, sacratum ADJ [XEXDX]
hallowed, holy, sacred;
Hope it helps.
My suggestion? Austinos of Incantatio. Good luck Monks ROCK.

If you're looking for Latin stuff, check the etymology of various words, particularly words with an archaic feel or religious feel to them (they typically have Latin roots).
Quite a few of my character names are based on Latin words.
Just looking on the wiktionary, I found purus meaning clean (and was the root of pure) - http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/purus
Spiritus is another word I've used a couple of times in my names (meaning Spirit, Ghost or Breath).
Vigor is another latin word (liveliness).

I actually came up with the same name! Thanks for all the suggestions and translations.
Im trying to decide between Astinos Of Incantio (Have to shorten to make it fit)
and _____ Of Elysium. Dont like the look of Astinos in there. (In greek mythology, Elysium is a section of the underworld for heros and pure souls, kinda of like an eternal paradise.)

Calvities..
It's latin for baldness and suits most male monks and Alesia. Keep that in mind next time you make a monk
